Transferring from an Old iPhone
Apple makes it easy to move your data using iCloud, iTunes/Finder, or Quick Start (phone-to-phone). Choose the method that works best for you.
1. Using iCloud
iCloud securely stores your photos, videos, apps, documents, and more in the cloud. Before transferring, make sure your old iPhone is fully backed up.
Check your storage: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud.
If your storage is full, select Manage Account Storage > Change Storage Plan.

Make sure your iCloud backup is up to date:
Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now
Start the transfer:
Turn on your new iPhone and follow the on-screen setup instructions. Select Restore from iCloud Backup, and your phone will guide you through the rest.

2. Using iTunes or Finder
The process depends on your computer:
Mac with macOS 11 Big Sur or macOS 10.15 Catalina: use Finder.
Mac with macOS Mojave 10.14 or earlier, or Windows PC: use iTunes.
Steps:
Back up your old iPhone to your computer.
Disconnect your old device.
Connect your new iPhone.
Select Restore from [Device Name] and follow the instructions.

3. Phone-to-Phone Transfer (Quick Start)
For Quick Start, both devices need iOS 12.4 or later and must be connected to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Turn on your new iPhone and place it near your old iPhone.
The Quick Start screen will appear â use your Apple ID to set up the new device.
Confirm the Apple ID and tap Continue.
Follow the on-screen prompts to set up Face ID, Touch ID, and personalization.
Tap Transfer from iPhone to move your data.

Transferring from an Android
Switching from Android? No problem â itâs easy with Appleâs Move to iOS app.
Download Move to iOS from Google Play on your Android device.
Turn on your iPhone and follow the setup process, including creating an Apple ID.
Tap Move Data from Android and note the 6- or 10-digit code.
Open Move to iOS on Android, enter the code, and wait for the Transfer Data screen.
The transfer may pause at 50% â this is normal. Your iPhone will restart automatically.
Follow the prompts to complete setup.
Troubleshooting: If contacts donât sync, add your Gmail account on the iPhone and toggle Contacts to green to transfer remaining contacts.
