My laptop is in the wrong languageUpdated a day ago

If your laptop's default language isn't your preferred language, you can fix it yourself by trying some of these solutions from our in-house tech experts. 

How to change the language of your laptop:

To select your preferred language, you need to download and install it and then set it as the default language.

Download your language 

If you have Windows 11:

  • Go to “Start” > “Settings” > “Select Time & language” > “Language & region”.
  • Pick your desired language in the “Add a language” list from “Preferred languages” then select “Options”.
  • Select “Download” in “Download language pack”.
  • Once the language pack has been installed, select “Back”.
  • Select a language in the Windows “Display language” menu.

If you have Windows 10:

  • Go to “Start” > “Settings” > “Time & Language” > “Language”.
  • Select a language in the “Add a language” list from “Preferred languages” and select “Options”.
  • Select “Download” in “Download language pack”.
  • Once the language pack has been installed, select “Back”.
  • Select a language in the Windows “Display Language” menu.

Set your default language

  1. Go to “Start” > “Settings” > “Time & Language” > “Language”.
  2. Select the language you downloaded and then select "Options".
  3. Select "Add a keyboard" and select the language you just downloaded.
  4. Go to “Start” > “Settings” > “Time & Language” > “Language”.
  5. Select "Preferred Language" > "Add a language".
  6. Choose the language you just downloaded > "Next" > "Install".
