If your laptop's default language isn't your preferred language, you can fix it yourself by trying some of these solutions from our in-house tech experts.
How to change the language of your laptop:
To select your preferred language, you need to download and install it and then set it as the default language.
Download your language
If you have Windows 11:
- Go to “Start” > “Settings” > “Select Time & language” > “Language & region”.
- Pick your desired language in the “Add a language” list from “Preferred languages” then select “Options”.
- Select “Download” in “Download language pack”.
- Once the language pack has been installed, select “Back”.
- Select a language in the Windows “Display language” menu.
If you have Windows 10:
- Go to “Start” > “Settings” > “Time & Language” > “Language”.
- Select a language in the “Add a language” list from “Preferred languages” and select “Options”.
- Select “Download” in “Download language pack”.
- Once the language pack has been installed, select “Back”.
- Select a language in the Windows “Display Language” menu.
Set your default language
- Go to “Start” > “Settings” > “Time & Language” > “Language”.
- Select the language you downloaded and then select "Options".
- Select "Add a keyboard" and select the language you just downloaded.
- Go to “Start” > “Settings” > “Time & Language” > “Language”.
- Select "Preferred Language" > "Add a language".
- Choose the language you just downloaded > "Next" > "Install".
